RM Compare is a digital tool that uses Comparative Judgement (CJ) as an alternative method to assess particularly those fuzzy subjects with high levels of subjectivity (like English, Art or Design) - where marking reliably and consistently is difficult - in a more reliable and efficient way.
Presenting complex and abstract ideas in a friendlier and clearer way.
The Compare team had identified that one of their main challenges when engaging with users and customers, was the amount of effort required to get anyone up to speed with anything compare-related (their product, their technology, their research, etc.).
The challenge was to provide a new visual language to help the Compare team communicate complex ideas in a simpler and friendlier way.
It was also seen as an opportunity to enable the team to engage internal and external partners with new ideas earlier in the innovation process, using visuals and animations that are both clear and thought-provoking.

“My Family Vets is a network of veterinary practices across the UK that combine clinical and professional excellence with a simple, unabridged love of all things pet.”
Transmitting a sense of warmth when representing distressing clinical situations.
My Family Vets' advice content frequently involved representing clinical and sometimes distressing situations. The challenge was providing an alternative to photography to present information in a more inviting and engaging way.
Illustrations will be used mainly on social media to promote general pet care advice and other digital marketing touch points such as brand websites, presentations, or email communications. We also saw the new illustration system as an opportunity to represent their community of local vets and clients, and transmit a sense of "family" and "belonging". Reflecting the diversity of their clients, staff, and their practices.

BladeInsight is a Data-as-a-Service (Daas) solution for wind parks that consolidates all processes and actors involved in the inspection and maintenance processes of turbines’ blades. Providing full visibility over its lifecycle to decision-makers.
Introducing a complex system in a more engaging way.
I developed this work in the context of my Master's Thesis in Interaction Design (IxD).
When presenting the final insights of my project, I found that one of the key challenges was the need to introduce a lot of new field-specific technical terms, a complex user model, etc.
The challenge was finding a visual language that would help me cut through complexity and present a clear picture of the relevant actors, processes and technologies in a friendlier and more engaging way.
